Now I Understand "Contact" by Carl Sagan

From The Scoop Section (Guilty Pleasure) of MSNBC.Com: (As always snarky parenthetical comments are mine)

Kirsten Dunst thinks America would be a better place if people would smoke a little more weed. (Uh gee uh....) “I drink moderately, I've tried drugs. I do like weed. I have a different outlook on marijuana than America does,” (Uhhhmmm!!!) the “Spider-Man” star said, reports WENN. “My best friend Sasha's dad was Carl Sagan(What the....), the astronomer. He was the biggest pot-smoker in the world and he was a genius.(Reaalllyyy!!!) I've never been a major smoker, but I think America’s view on weed is ridiculous. I mean — are you kidding me? If everyone smoked weed, the world would be a better place.”(UhhhMMM!)

Why the Sports Guy Is Awesome...And Why Charlie Doesn't Surf

"Mark Teahen, who handled that play like a token female in a friendly office softball game." It is funny because not only is it true, but because you can perfectly visualize the play.

Also, I finally get to catch a game at the Great American Ballpark this June. Oh and my niece, AAH, is being christened the same weekend. I promise not to eat a Red Hot at one of these events. (Ok, who are we kidding, I love hot dogs put me down for a couple at both). The Reds are playing the Rangers. Adam Dunn and Sammy Sosa, and a homer friendly park. We could see a single game record for HR's or more likely K's. Seriously, I had better plate discipline playing kickball. Kills me.

In other sports news the Bulls are playing well and may get the second seed in the east.

Do you think other golfers just get pissed that even though they have a four stroke lead on Thursday they know they are going to get Tiger'd. (Yes I made it a verb). My father-in-law watched the practice rounds in Augusta looking forward to hear his comments.

Oh, and if you think I am avoiding talking about the biggest sporting event to happen this week out of some emotional shock you may be right. By no means did the third straight loss in a Championship game by one of my teams, including the Buckeyes twice losing to the the Gators cause me to re-enact Martin Sheen's Saigon hotel room karate workout from Apocalypse Now. Really...

I refuse any further comment regarding this subject and if you ask me about it, well in the immortal words of Kurtz:
"I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared."
